Jumper Foote-Talley Leads Northwest To 4A Team Title

Senior Clarence Foote-Talley popped a US#1 mark of 51-10.50 to win the triple jump on Saturday at the MPSAA track and field championships at Morgan State University in Baltimore.

Foote-Talley led Northwest to the Class 4A team title. He won the triple jump by seven feet. He also won the long jump (23-2), placed second in the high jump (6-6) and ran a leg on the winning 4x100 relay (42.30). The Ohio State signee had a hand in 38 of Northwest’s 79 points.

Northwest’s Taylor Wright won the girls sprint titles, taking the 100 in 12.29 and 200 in 25.26. She also won the high jump with a clearance at 5-8 and the triple jump with 41-0.50.

Ella Auderset, sophomore, won the 4A girls 800 meters and ran on the winning 4x400 relay (3:55.02) to help Urbana win the girls team title.

Drew Dailey of Dulaney won the 800 meters in 1:54.30, beating Severna Park’s Alexander Chaisson by less than half a second. Dailey also won the 1,600 meters in 4:14.60.

Chaisson helped SP win the 4x800 in 8:02.14.

Northwood’s Eldad Mulugeta, the Penn Relays 3,000 meters champion, won the 3,200 state title in 9:12.64.

Joseph Ewan of Mergenthaler Vocational Tech won the 100 meters in 10.81 and the200 in 22.10. Both finals were run into the wind. Ewan also ran on the winning 4x400 relay (3:23.13).

Josiah Nilsen of Dulaney cleared 6-9 to win the high jump.

Mount Hebron junior Satori Valentine won a great race in the girls 3A 400 meters final, breaking the tape in 55.49 seconds, just ahead of Franklin’s Jasmine Johnson (55.55) and James Hubert Blake’s Noelani Phillips (56.06). Phillips won the 200 in 24.82 and helped her team win the 4x200 relay and take second in the 4x400.

Valentine returned to win the 800 meters in 2:15.82. And she also anchored the 4x400 relay to a huge win in 3:50.68.

David Vincent Okoli from Watkins Mill won the 3A 100 meters in 10.87 and the 200 in 22.32. His prelim times (10.75/21.78w) were even faster. He also anchored the winning 4x100 relay team (42.14).

Almighty Williamson from Digital Harbor won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.24 seconds. He also placed second in the 100. 

Sophomore Caitlyn Bobb from Harford Tech won the 2A titles in the 200 (24.64) and the 400 (54.02). She also helped her team win the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.

Kyra Schulties from Kent Island ran 2:17.03 to win the 800 meters and 5:05.56 to take the 1,600 meters. She was also part of the second-place team in the 4x800 relay. Teammate Fiona Mulligan jumped 11-6 to win the pole vault.

Jalen Stanton from Century won the 2A 100 (10.81), 110 hurdles (14.14) and high jump (6-4), and he also anchored the third-place 4x100 relay team.

Oakdale’s Kyle Lund won the 800 in 1:54.30 and the 1,600 in 4:18.72.

Waman Kendron of North Caroline was a double winner in the 2A boys shot put and discus. Teammate Geni Roberts won the long jump and triple jump.

Mya King from Sparrow’s Point was the standout of the 1A meet, clocking 14.39 to win the 100-meter hurdles and 43.13 to win the 300s. She also placed third in the triple jump.
